My fundamental training is in in-depth psychodynamic work, understanding how symptoms of anxiety, depression and relationship issues are rooted in earlier experiences and interpersonal patterns. This type of work takes time, but can ultimately lead to lasting and meaningful change.
No single treatment fits everyone, and I find it beneficial to incorporate different approaches into my work with patients. If you are living with symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, or certain depressive disorders, you may feel so debilitated that getting through a single day seems an interminable challenge. If you are experiencing this level of suffering, we will focus initial treatment on relief of symptoms and development of coping strategies using empirically validated approaches and solution focused and cognitive behavioral techniques.
I have a special interest in mindfulness and meditation, which I bring into sessions when helpful, such as for people living with chronic pain or generalized anxiety.
